Nibble nibble like a… Squirrel??

I hear munching overhead. It’s a squirrel. Eating our house. Ugh.
There’s a hole under the eaves that they use to get into the attic. We have tried plugging it, but they just chew right on through again. Then they have races up and down the length of our house between the floor joists.
I swear they must be getting bigger, too. It sounds like a herd of elephants gamboling in our attic sometimes.
Matt said this week, “That’s it, we’re getting poison.”
I hate that it’s come to this. Not that I mind killing the home crashing rodents, but because poison is just so… poisonous. I hate willfully bringing toxins into our home. Bleh.
But something has to be done. They have already chewed through the wiring in our attic so that the outlets don’t work anymore.
Stupid squirrels.
That’s so gross, I don’t blame you for wanting them gone!
Catch them and give them to the SPCA! Hehe Otherwise, have you looked into the metal grates?

Yeah. There’s a lot to be said about humane trapping, but not when they come back. x.x;
That’s the thing… they always come back.
We put a metal screen over the hole and then filled it in with that solid foam stuff. They chewed through ALL of it. Nasty blighters.
Ugh. Disease spreading rodents they are.
We’ve had trouble with mice, and tried to trap and release them. They came back, so we had no choice with the mouse traps. We don’t have mouse problems anymore.
Instead of that, put live traps up there. Once you’ve caught them go around the whole house with wire meshing right under the eaves where they’ve been getting in. They won’t be able to chew threw it and you won’t have to bring poison in the house.
Oh, they can chew through wire mesh. We learned the hard way.
try peanutbutter in a have a heart trap instead, it would be better if they didn’t die in your attic or walls it will be odorous come summer! You caould drive them a good distance to a park or something and let them go…?
Hmmmm… tried concrete?
The bad thing about poison is that they could die in an inaccessible place and the stench would be unbelievable.
Still, you’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do.
I know, and I’m concerned about that, but still… I don’t know what else to do.
